We look forward to finally reuniting in person, in accordance with CDC, state, and local health guidance and regulations. As guidance and safety measures evolve in the weeks and months ahead, we will continue to update our supporters about what to expect locally. We are committed to the health and safety of all of our guests and participants and as such will make the best local decisions regarding masks, sanitizing stations, social distancing and crowd management, modified event layouts, outdoor venues and contactless engagement options onsite. These decisions will be made, and adjusted, based on the unique needs and circumstances of the local community. Please refer back to this website for more event updates.

The health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers are our top priorities. This year's Walk will be designed with this in mind including a venue layout that allows for physical distancing, hand sanitizer stations, and more. The Epilepsy Foundation will continue to closely monitor Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local guidelines and make adjustments to our event-day safety protocols as needed.
Yes, every person, regardless of age, that is planning to walk with us on event day must register. Adults should be present to register a minor online, as they will need to sign their participation waiver during the registration process.
After you complete your event registration, you'll be set up with an Epilepsy Foundation events account with a username and password so that you can come back later and access your Participant Center to customize your Personal and/or Team Fundraising Page, track your progress, and more!
It is free to participate in the Walk! We want all members of the community with us, but we can’t host these events and provide the resources for the epilepsy community without your help. We ask every walker to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds to help us support the epilepsy community.

Forming a Walk team is easy! Follow the steps in the previous question above to register for this event or another event nationwide. Once you've started a new team as a Team Captain, be sure to ask friends, family, and co-workers to join your team and support the epilepsy community. If you’ve already registered as an Individual, you can still form a team! Contact us at walkinfo@efa.org and we can get you all sorted!
Team Captains are the heart of Walk, and it’s easy to do! As a Team Captain, you’ll recruit your team of family, friends, and co-workers, help them fundraise, keep them motivated, and have fun fighting for a great cause in the process. You will also have access to a Team Fundraising Page and numerous tools to make your team a success.
We recommend teams of 10, however there is no required number of people. Tell your friends, family, and co-workers why you are walking and ask them to join you — you’ll have a team in no time!
Yes. We are asking that you join us at Railroad Park as a team for the walk. If you are not able to join, we recommend that you walk on your own to help raise awareness!
To re-start a team from last year, you must have been a member of the team in the same event last year and log in with the username and password you used last year. Forgot your username and password? Once logged in, you will be asked if you would like to re-start your team from last year. Choose to re-start your team and continue with the registration flow.
To register family members, begin your own registration and enter your details. At the end of the registration flow, you will see a Register Another Person button; click this button to add children or other dependents for whom you have the legal authority to sign our liability waiver.
If you've already completed your event registration and want to register someone else for whom you have the authority to sign our liability waiver, simply log out of the website and begin a new registration. You can check to see if you are logged in by viewing the top right-hand side of the walk website. If it says Welcome, Name, you are logged in and need to log out before you register another individual.

The best fundraising efforts start by sharing your personal story about why you're participating in the Walk! By logging into your Participant Center, you can update your story, and so much more. Consider kicking things off with a self-pledge donation, sending emails, creating a Facebook Fundraiser, live streaming your walk(s), and spreading the word to ask for your friends, family and co-workers’ support of the epilepsy community by pledging to donate for each mile you complete or to make a one-time, flat donation. Phone calls, emails, and text messages also go a long way to ask your peers for support. You can learn the easy steps to navigating your participant center by reviewing the Resources found in your Participant Center, and access more information about fundraising on the Fundraising & Incentives page on the event website.
Your friends and family can head to your Personal Page and see what you’ve fundraised at any time. Consider sharing a custom URL to your page to all those who have supported your efforts, so they can check your progress.
The Walk to END EPILEPSY’s website allows participants registered for a Walk event to log in to their Participant Center and click Create a Facebook Fundraiser so that all donations received through Facebook will credit their fundraising page, and will be deposited directly to the Epilepsy Foundation and their local Walk campaign. Log into your Participant Center on the event website and click Create a Facebook Fundraiser to get started.
To help you get your Facebook Fundraiser started. review this How-To Guide.
No. Participants must register on the Walk to END EPILEPSY’s website first, then create the Facebook Fundraiser from their participant center. We cannot tie an existing Facebook Fundraiser to a new registration. If you have already created a Fundraiser and selected the Epilepsy Foundation as the beneficiary, donations will be sent to the Epilepsy Foundation as general donations. To begin receiving credit for new donations, please close your existing fundraiser, visit your participant center, and set up a new fundraiser.
More FAQs on Facebook Fundraisers can be found here.
